Single Girder
Gantry
The most cost-effective full gantry solution for light to medium loads. Six-directional movement, indoor and outdoor rated, available in traditional and European low-headroom configurations — no runway structure required.
Single Girder
Gantry
More Affordable than Double Girder
A single box or truss beam requires significantly less steel than a twin-girder bridge, reducing both material cost and dead weight on the ground rail system. For capacities up to 20 tonnes, a single girder design handles most industrial tasks at a lower investment — making it the most widely deployed gantry crane type worldwide.
Space-Saving Low Headroom
European-style single girder models use compact low-headroom hoists that travel on the bottom flange of the main beam — bringing the hook significantly closer to the girder soffit and maximising usable lift height in facilities with restricted headroom. Ideal wherever headroom is limited but full hook travel is still required.
Modular & Quick to Install
All structural sections are pre-fabricated and bolt-together on site — no special tooling or extended civil works required. Ground beam and outriggers are connected by high-strength bolts. If the concrete floor is at least 200 mm thick, no excavation is needed: rail anchor plates are bolted directly to the slab and the crane is operational within days of delivery.
The Most Versatile Entry Point Into Gantry Lifting
The single girder gantry crane is the most widely used portal crane in general industry — chosen wherever a facility lacks support columns, is leased, operates outdoors, or simply cannot justify the additional investment of a double girder system. Both legs run on ground-level rails, making the crane structurally independent of the building. Capacities from 1 tonne to 32 tonnes, spans from 4.5 to 30 metres, and lifting heights to 18 metres cover the vast majority of light-to-medium industrial handling tasks.
Cesan supplies single girder gantry cranes in two main configurations. The traditional (MH / MG type) design uses robust standard steel sections with wire rope or chain hoists, lower initial cost, and simple maintenance — preferred for general logistics, outdoor yards, warehouses, and cost-sensitive production environments. The European-style configuration uses high-strength, lightweight materials and FEM-designed compact hoists for reduced overall crane height, lower dead load on rails, smoother VFD-controlled travel, and higher performance in modern factory environments.
Both configurations support cantilever overhangs on one or both sides, allowing loads to be lifted beyond the rail track width. A cable reel manages power supply for long-travel outdoor runs. Optional lattice (truss) legs significantly improve wind resistance for fully exposed open-air sites. All structural steel receives shot-blast surface preparation to Sa2 class and a dual zinc-rich epoxy primer coat before dispatch.
- No building runway required — both legs on ground rails
- Lower cost and dead weight vs. double girder equivalent
- European low-headroom hoist maximises hook travel in restricted spaces
- Cantilever overhang extends reach beyond the span on either side
- Installs on existing concrete slab — no foundation excavation in most cases
- Truss-type legs available for high wind load outdoor environments
- All structural steel shot-blasted Sa2 + dual zinc-rich epoxy primer coat

Standard OptionAvailable Variants
Box Girder Gantry
Standard welded box-section main beam with rigid box-section legs. Suited for most indoor and outdoor applications where robust construction is the priority. Available 2–20 T.
Lattice Girder Gantry
Open lattice main beam and legs reduce wind resistance for exposed outdoor sites. Lighter overall — ideal for ports, yards, and open-air construction areas with high wind loads. Available 2–20 T.
Cantilevered Gantry
Extended cantilever on one or both sides of the main beam allows the hoist to reach beyond the span of the ground rails — essential for loading and unloading wide vehicles or oversized loads.
Low-Headroom Gantry
FEM-designed compact hoist runs on the bottom flange — maximises hook height. High-strength lightweight materials, VFD-controlled drives, sealed maintenance-free bearings. 1–20 T.
Heavy Single Girder
Reinforced single girder designed for the 10–32 T capacity range where a full double girder is not yet required. Higher duty cycle rating for medium-intensity production environments.
Box Girder + Truss Leg
Box-section main girder with lattice-section legs — combines a compact bridge profile with wind-resistant support structure. Popular for semi-open production sheds and outdoor yards.
